My avocation is researching and writing about the Civil War, of course. Beyond that, I'm also an avid collector of science fiction and dark fantasy first editions. Living near the Motor City makes me a rabid Detroit sports fan, except for during the fall when I bleed Cleveland Brown and orange.

My fascination with the Civil War dates back to my childhood as I can remember living in York, Pa. and being taken to Gettysburg on numerous occasions by my grandparents. The Ken Burns mini-series in the early 90's fully rekindled the flame. I lived for over 30 years in Florida so my first passion regarding the "Late Unpleasantness" is anything to do with Florida, which was lovingly referred to by the Yankee press as "the smallest tadpole in the dirty pool of secession."
I am also available for presentations to your Civil War roundtable, historical society, library, etc. Please contact to discuss.
